RUNWAY VISUAL RANGE
Runway Visual Range (RVR) is the range over which the Pilot of an aircraft on the centreline of a runway can see the runway surface markings, or the lights delineating the runway or identifying its centreline. RVR is an essential element of Aerodrome Operating Minima.
AERODROME OPERATING MINIMA
Aerodrome Operating Minima denotes the limits of usability of an aerodrome for landing and take-off. They are criteria used by Pilots to determine whether they may land or take-off from any runway in an aerodrome.
Aerodrome Operating Minima consist of two parts: one relating to the cloud base, and the other relating to the visibility and/or Runway Visual Range.
