On October 15, 2019, Tolulope Arotile was winged as the first female combat helicopter pilot in the Nigerian Air Force after completing her flying training in South Africa. She held a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the NDA and was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on 16 September 2017. Arotile died of head injury on 14 July 2020 within the premises of the NAF Base, Kaduna, when she was inadvertently hit by the reversing vehicle of an excited former Air Force Secondary School classmate while “trying to greet her.”
