On October 28,1998, An Air China jetliner was hijacked by disgruntled Pilot YUAN BIN and flown to Taiwan. The 30 year old Pilot was accompanied on the flight by his wife, XU MEI. He hijacked his own flight, saying he was frustrated over pay and working conditions. The plane, carrying 104 people, landed safely in Taiwan. No one was injured in the hijacking, and the Pilot was taken into custody.
